The Geoff Dowson Memorial Trophy is an Open Mixed Triples Competition on Saturday, June 1st, 2024.
Dear friends,
On behalf of the Bonalba committee and members, we would like to thank everyone for participating in The Geoff Dowson Open Mixed Triples Competition on Saturday, June 1st, 2024.
32 teams from 11 different clubs from across the Costa Blanca entered this competition and it was fully booked without any advertising, which speaks volumes about our late president Geoff Dowson.
For those who stayed over, we hope you had an enjoyable evening at the Hong Kong restaurant and apologise for the delays .
It was wonderful to see so many people attend the evening meal, Initially, we expected 30-40 people, but the final total was 95, exceeding our expectations.

The runners-up were Stewart Beattie, Yvonne Bridon and Richard Warrilow (El Cid)
Third place went to Lisa Bonsor, Peter Bonsor and Dave Bruce (Greenlands)
It was wonderful to see such a high level of participation which contributed to the competition’s success.
A special thank you to Tina Davies for her hard work in the kitchen, along with her fabulous helpers. Also thank you to Jean Maddocks and Barbara Pilling for hosting the raffle, and all the helpers who contributed to making this day a success for the club.
Lastly a big thank you to Brenda Burgess for serving as the umpire for the competition.
